About us

Welcome — we're glad you're here!

My name is Barbora, and I’m the owner of a 17-year-old Lusitano stallion who has lived with respiratory problems for over a decade. His respiratory journey began not long after I bought him at age six. Looking back, the warning signs were there — a light cough during our first vet check. I assumed it was a mild cold from transport. It wasn’t.

After months of unsuccessful treatment, we pursued more thorough diagnostics.
The result: a confirmed allergy to spores in hay and straw.

We acted fast. Straw bedding was replaced with shavings. We bought a Haygain hay steamer and a Flexineb inhaler. From then on, steamed hay and daily saline inhalations became part of our routine.
And for ten years, it worked. He remained stable.
We competed in dressage — even at the highest levels —
and I truly believed we had everything under control.

Until last year...

A series of seemingly small mistakes led to a serious relapse. It took months of trial, error, research, and a long list of vet bills to stabilize him again. Only then did I realize something important: while basic information on respiratory care is out there, what’s really missing is long-term support and real-world experience.

Veterinarians are essential — no question. But they focus on the crisis.
What about the long haul?
What happens after the first diagnosis?
What changes with age, weather, environment?
What should you expect next?

These are the questions that often go unanswered.

That’s why this website was born — to gather helpful, experience-based information in one place.
We’re here for horse owners facing the same challenges, so you don’t have to learn everything the hard way.

We’re not veterinarians, and nothing here replaces veterinary care. But our goal is to help you ask better questions, understand your horse’s condition more clearly, and feel more confident in your daily decisions.

We believe every horse with respiratory problems deserves a well-informed owner.
We hope this site helps you become one.
